Golden Triangle Tour Of India

Are you short on time? Are you in Delhi for business? Still, you can immerse yourself and experience the diversity of India, North India.

Just do a golden triangle tour. This tour is a triangle of Delhi, Agra and Jaipur with an option to extend it to Bharatpur and Pushkar.

Delhi is the current capital, has historically been the imperial capital with few exceptions. Agra is one of those exceptions apart from Kolkatta (British). Jaipur was the capital of a powerful Rajput kingdom.

Delhi has always imperiously summoned the rulers to establish their capital here.

A circuit of about 800 to 1200 Kms, this circuit will expose you to the modern Delhi, the old Delhi, medieval monuments, rural landscape, artisans, forts, museums, cultural programmes, elephant rides, delicious food, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian.

Delhi has three world heritage monuments, fourth one under discussion. The three are Humayun’s tomb, Qutub Minar, Red Fort. The fourth one is the Purana Qila or the old fort.

But Delhi is more than this. It’s markets, it’s temples, sufi shrines. In older days, Delhi was known as the 22 Sufi saints city. Both intensely spiritual and religious, the commitment of people is very visible to it.

Some of the shrines to visit are: Nizamuddin, Kaki (behind Qutub Minar), Chirag, Matke wale.

Delhi has the Bhairon temple where liquor is offered to the deity.

Agra has Red Fort, Taj Mahal, Sikandara, Itmadullah’s tomb as it’s most famous monuments.

In Agra, lovely marble inlay work is easily viewed and if enticing, you can buy a souveniour for yourself.

Jaipur has many forts like Amber Fort (a delight to visit), Jai garh fort being the most notables. It’s markets are a shopping haven. Jaipur’s forte is textiles, leather sandals and ofcourse jewelery.

Ideally we recommend you to take a car and driver for golden triangle tour india. Not very expensive, it allows you a flexibility of being picked up from the airport or railway station or from anywhere in Delhi and dropped again anywhere.

This has another advantage. On your way to Jaipur from Agra, you get the opportunity to visit Fatehpur Sikri, a magnificent edifice. Fatehpur Sikri has the shrine of the sufi saint Salim Chisti, at whose feet the mighty Akbar (buried in Sikandara) prostrated himself, asking for the blessing of a son, which he obtained.

This fort was therefore constructed by Akbar in the honour of Salim Chisti.

Sikri lost out due to lack of water.

This works out cheaper especially if you are more than one person, if you add all the related costs of booking tickets, local transport, delayed arrivals / departures.

We recommend you start your tour from Delhi.

In terms of accommodation, there is a wide variety. From budget hostels to luxury palaces.

A Visit To The Moorish City Of Granada

This has got to be one of the best weekend city breaks around.

It is easy to get to from a wide range of European airports.

This is always a good start as it does away with a long drive to begin your break and it also cuts down costs. Of course some may be coming from much further afield so it is a good idea to do a 2 or 3 centre break.

There are also many European coach tours, which visit all the main cities in Andalucia.

If you are looking for good Europe travel guides it is always best to spend time searching around the Internet and using the online tools to build your own break.

Granada is a spectacular city as it is built around the high point of the Alhambra.

This ancient citadel is the main reason most people initially plan their visit to Granada and it is not a disappointment. It is also much larger than most people realise.

There are a few things to consider when planning your visit to the Alhambra.

The best advice is to buy your tickets on line before you go, as the queues are invariably long and the numbers per session are limited so if you are in the queue and the limit is reached you have queued for nothing.

Also it is quite a climb to reach the entrance as you would expect, but there are buses from the centre of Granada.

It is impossible to describe fully how wonderful the Alhambra is.

It has streets and shops, hotels and a palace besides the pools and gardens it is famous for.
The Generalife gardens are a must see but they are a little way from the centre of the Alcazar.
Some of the more famous areas i.e. the Nazareen Palace will have a timed entrance on your ticket and it is important to stick to this.

Wear comfy shoes, as there is a lot of walking.

There are also night visits, which usually mean you can be there for sunset.

If the Alhambra were the only reason to visit Granada it would be worth going, but as with so may cities they have diverse attractions. For example the Cathedral is spectacular and it is where the tombs are of Ferdinand and Isabella who conquered Granada in 1492. Also, as with many Cathedrals there is plenty of wonderful art and artefacts so allow plenty of time for your visit.

It is an excellent city for walking around, as it is not too big.

There are lots of narrow streets or ‘calles’ with Tapas bars which are an especially good way to start off an evening, which by the way could be a trip to the caves to experience the Flamenco.

How would you like to enjoy Granada calles strolling?

I can’t imagine many answering ‘no’.

The city has so much to offer. You may just visit when the Medieval market is on when the whole of the square in front of the Cathedral looks, for a short while as though it has slipped back 500 years. There are spit roasts, stalls selling crafts brought in by the people who have actually made the jewellery, food etc that they are selling. There are stalls selling toys of the period and a group of musicians playing medieval instruments stroll around the market.

Unless you want to travel outside Granada a weekend is just the right length for a first visit and if you fall ‘under its spell’ you can always return.

Taking Your GF For A Romantic Getaway

Today I have been searching to find a reasonable romantic weekend deal for us as in me and my girlfriend. I cannot think from the top of my head where I want to go and where I can take her to see a biggest surprised smile on her face. I have been on Google all day long today to find the best deal but still haven’t got anywhere.

I just cannot make up my mind where to go for a romantic getaway. I have looked at deals on various countries such as Italy, Cyprus, Spain, Holland, France, Croatia, Israel, Germany and others but I am finding it difficult to make my mind up.

But what I have done is completely crossed out other destinations except Italy and Spain.

The reason for Spain was because of Barcelona. Barcelona is full of culture and romance and is one of the beautiful cities in the World and for Italy I have chosen Venice well simply because it is one of the most romantic cities in the World. Barcelona and Venice have one thing in common, my girlfriend has never been to these cities. I believe this will come as a surprise to her this Valentines as in the last 3 years of our relationship we haven’t really travelled outside UK for a romantic Valentines weekend.

My belief is these romantic getaways can bring more closer to my partner and vice versa. This will also be an exciting experience to learn about each other in a different way as we haven’t really spend time together outside the UK where there is no work and family hassle. It’s not only the romantic getaway I am planning I am also planning few outdoor activities as activities normally are used for team building and in this case love building. I really do hope she likes this surprise.

How I Found My True Love Through Internet Dating

This is a story of a man who spent most of his hours finding a perfect partner for himself on the Internet. That man is obviously me the write of this article. I just thought I will share the story of my love with you. How I got from online dating to now planning romantic getaways with my other half.

It started in 2007 when there was a buzz of new social media websites and dating sites. Facebook was making its mark in UK whereas I was into Internet and learning to build my own personal Website. I just broke up with my girlfriend and was a bit down and depressed. While I searching online I found this dating site and I thought I will join it and see how it goes. After creating my profile I started to browse the Website and see what I can find on it. First few days I browsed to see what kind of people I can find there, who matches the best with my likings.

Then one day I got an email from the dating site saying I have received a message from someone who is interested in me. I replied back and we kept in touch via email for next few months. It was all going fine till the day my computer had a virus in it and I couldn’t use the PC for few weeks till it was fixed. In this time work also sent me to a word purpose trip for few weeks to Italy.

When I came back I wanted to see if the girl I was chatting on that dating site sent me any messages. I had no message from her and on top of that she cancelled her profile. I was totally gutted as she sounded interesting and she was very beautiful.

Few weeks passed and then it June 10th, the day of my Birthday, I had invited my friends for barbecue at my place, as I was preparing the barbecue I heard the door bell ring. I opened the door and saw a delivery man holding a package. He said this is for you sir after clarifying my details. I was curious who sent it so I opened it all and what a Birthday Present I received. The present was sent from the girl who I used to chat to on the internet dating site. Then I recalled that I gave her my Website details which was completed few weeks ago and had my personal details on it. The gift also contained a little note with her name and number. This is all I needed and now we are married and planning a romantic weekend away to Spain. Weekend away for couples to India.

Taking A Concise Peep Into What Coniston Water Has On Offer For The Visitor

What is there to do on a break to the third biggest lake in England’s Lake District? Coniston Water is somewhat easy to get round by foot or bike and is jam-packed of history and exceptional surroundings. Take a peek at our guide to Coniston

Several thousands of visitors make their way to the Lake District each year, with a fine number of these traffic heading to Coniston Water. Quite deep, it is the third biggest of the lakes in the Lake District.

But what is there to do on a break to the third biggest lake in England’s Lake District? Coniston Water is reasonably simple to get around by foot or bike, even if not so uncomplicated in a car as some of the roads on the west of the lake are only in fact for accessing what is on offer. Indeed, turn up in late March and you may be able to observe the entrants of the Coniston 14 mile run circuiting the lake. Although this year, following a bridge collapse in last year’s extraordinarily heavy rains, the path is using a alternative route to encompass the whole lake and becomes almost 17 miles in length! Good luck to the runners – I am not there myself this year.

There are quite a lot of places to park in the town of Coniston and you can walk down to the lake, or you can park down by the lake if that is all that you are there for. From the lake there are several sports to experience.

The best recognized is doubtless the Coniston Steam Yacht Gondola. This is an interesting historic boat that I experienced once more on my most recent trip to the Lakes. It is an original steamboat that has been rebuilt from an original Victorian Gondola that had been left to rot and sink. It has been rebuilt and is ran by the National Trust and it stops at Brantwood and you can buy cut-rate tickets to combine a visit.

Brantwood was the home to John Ruskin, from 1872 – 1900. It has the attractions of arguably one of the most good-looking situations for a house in the Lake District and a trip around the house, either in conjunction with the Gondola or on its own, is highly suggested.

John Ruskin, for those not well aware with the man, he was a man well ahead of his time with a interesting life story about his fail into madness. The house is interesting and details his philosophy and ideology and a variety of memorabilia. A visit to the house would not be complete without also visiting the entire estate and gardens, so there is a lot to while away a agreeable afternoon.

The Gondola is not the only way to tour on Coniston Water. Aside from a variety of rental craft, there is also the Coniston Launch. Similar to the Gondola, this is a historic boat, being initially laid down in the 1920s, but it has changed to a more ecological solar electric power to get you quietly around the lake. Again, this boat ferries you around the lake stopping at a variety of jetties, again including Brantwood.

The lake was the source for the Wildcat Island of Arthur Ransome’s Swallows and Amazons and is where Donald Campbell attempted his ultimately fatal world water speed record attempt. It is a lake full of the past.

Keith writes for Cottage-4-Holidays where you can locate a wide range of self catering cottages to rent, which includes a good collection of self catering holiday cottages to rent in Coniston. Sample what the Lakes have to offer!

It’s Valentines Day Soon, So A Good Old Excuse To Take A Romantic UK Short Break

With February 14th, just a few weeks away, everyone is thinking about romance.

To be honest, it’s pretty much the only time of the year when hubby and I do try to spend a few days away together.

Previously, we have been very lucky with some of the places we have visited. UK Short Breaks can be fantastic, but you do have to be careful that you don’t get ripped off.

For instance last year we stayed at a few different Hotels In Wales. They varied so much in comfort and style, that this year I have decided that I want to stay at a nice cosy cottage instead, where it will just be the 2 of us.

Already I have done some research into where to stay. I have searched on various search engines for cottage holidays in Wales, weekend breaks in Wales, Holiday Cottages Wales, etc. etc.

Some of the places I have found have been absolutely fantastic and there are some great cottages out there to rent. Mind you, I would really advise caution when booking. It is essential that you double check all the small print on any website you decide to book with otherwise you may find you are being charged for a lot more than you thought.

For instance one of the companies I researched charged extra for everything, this included electricity, gas, logs for the fire, bedding, towels, and the list went on and on. It is absolutely unbelievable that some companies actually charge extra for bedding. If I have already paid money to rent the cottage, I really wouldn’t expect to have to pay additional money for renting linen.

As of yet I haven’t actually got anything booked.

It doesn’t look like it is going to be a great Valentines Day for me this year. In our house at the moment, there is a bit of a heated discussion going on about where to actually go. I especially love the area around the Brecon Beacon. The Welsh seem to be genuinely nice people and all the open space they have gives you a chance to breath.

On the other hand hubby loves Scotland because he gets to play his precious golf, so unless there is a compromise to be found, I can see our romantic break will not be anything of the sort!

Adventurous Kerala: Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary

For those of us interested in adventurous tours into the wild and untouched forest areas and want to view the nature and photograph the wildest of animals in their natural habitat, a tour into the Periyar wildlife sanctuary, Kerala is worth considering.

The Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary is located amidst the mountains of western ghats, in the Idukki district of the God’ own country, Kerala. It covers an area of 777 sq km and is one of most renowned sanctuaries in India.

The history of this park dates back to 1934, when the Maharaja of Travancore, on recommendation of his game warden, S.C.H. Robinson, converted the area around the lake into a sanctuary by the name of Nellikkampetty sanctuary. In 1966, the sanctuary was brought under the forest department and the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary was created. It was finally declared as a Tiger Reserve in the 1978. In 1991, the park was brought under the Project Elephant. The park was earlier also known by the name of Thekkady WildlifeSanctuary.

Formed in 1895, with the building of a dam, the Periyar Lake today is a major source of water for the resident animals and birds. About three fourth of the sanctuary is covered with evergreen and semi evergreen rain forests and the rest one fourth of the area is covered by Periyar River and Pamba River. The beauty of the lake and the environ of the sanctuary lapped under the mountains combined with the smell of fresh air coming from the moist deciduous forest is very soothing for the visitors and makes one long to return for more. It is one of the largest and most frequented reserves in India. No wonder this sanctuary is known as the pride of Kerala.

Periyar is home to the most exotic of the flora and fauna. It houses around 62 species of animals, ranging from the most ferocious Tiger to the most peaceful Deer. There are around 35-50 tigers in the Periyar sanctuary and most of the tourists come here to get a glimpse of these tigers moving around in the forest. The other animal of interest to the tourists is the Indian Elephant. It is a wonderment watching this huge animal playing recklessly by the Periyar lake. There are about one thousand elephants in this sanctuary. Other animals that could be seen here are Leopards, Common Langurs, Mouse Deer, Malabar Squirrel, Indian wild Dogs, Nilgiri Langurs, Lion Tailed Macaque, and porcupines, Bonnet Wild Boar, Sambar, Macaques, Nilgiri Tahr, Dhole and Barking Deer. Talking about the reptile population of the park, there are 45 species of them here, including a variety of snakes, turtles and lizards. King Cobras and Pythons, the two very poisonous snakes are a common sight in the park.

Speaking of birds, there are about 180 species of them, including Kingfishers, Darters, Cormorants, the great Malabar Hornbill and racket-tailed Drongoes. Tourists who are interested in spotting these birds should carry binoculars with them.

Best time to visit this park is between the months of November to May. This is because during this period the waterholes inside the forest areas dry up and the inhabitant animals come up to the lake to drink water and take bath in the waters. Therefore, the chances of sighting wild animals are enhanced during these months.

On a tour to Thekkady or Periyar sanctuary, one should not miss the boat cruise in the lake. This way one can both enjoy the beauty of the Periyar Lake and sight see wild animals while enjoying a boating trip. Although it is normally not possible to see many animals from the boat, still you can spot a family of Elephants, Wild Boar, and Sambar Deer by the lake. The upper deck is best for wildlife viewing when taking a boat cruise

One can also do Trekking and Jeep safaris in the sanctuary. Trekking, especially night trekking is an exciting option for all those who have the energy level for carrying out such an expedition. Prior permission needs to be obtained for this purpose from the forest department. They will sent armed guards with you for your safety to guide you and to prevent you from getting lost in the forest area.

The other exciting option for adventurous tourists is bamboo rafting. Spotting animals from bamboo raft is perfectly safe and if you are lucky, you can even sight Tigers while on the bamboo raft. Another option of enjoyment in Periyar is elephant riding and Nature walk. In Nature walk, the tourists, accompanied by forest officials, go on a walking expedition around Lake Periyar. This provides a satisfaction of roaming around in the park inhabited by numerous animals. Do ask your tour operator to give you a list of options available so that you can select one based on your liking or energy level.

How You Can Undertake Hiking Backpacking In The Mountains

As a terrific recreational endeavor, hiking backpacking is the one time you can walk for the reason that you want to, not because you have to. Undoubtedly, there is no other endeavor that best exemplifies that line from an Aerosmith song: “Life’s a journey, not a destination.” In hiking backpacking, what matters most is the voyage, not the end of the path.

The reason why you undertake this hiking backpacking trip varies from person to person, for sure. And sometimes, even from occasion to occasion. But for most people, they like hiking backpacking trips for one or more of the subsequent reasons:

A Healthful Activity

Why do runners run and walkers walk? Why do fitness enthusiasts bother with strict work out routines? If you ask them this question, they’ll give you one answer: because it’s advantageous for the body. But though fitness routines can help you exercise and improve a number of parts of your body right indoors, hiking backpacking provides you with the ideal chance to combine an equally strenuous but healthful endeavor with the splendor of the outside.

Hiking backpacking is a wonderful body exercise which will really improve your general physical condition. Not only that, but because of the nature of the exercise itself, you get a chance to benefit from life to the fullest. The natural walking motion that hiking backpacking offers provides you with a comparatively low impact but effective workout. What’s further, with hiking backpacking, you are able to adjust the exact speed and length of your workout without depending on treadmills or additional home gymnasium equipment. In fact, walking is such a magnificent form of exercise that a lot of people even include it in their standard fitness schedule.

Nature Lover’s Type of Heaven

As we mentioned, hiking backpacking provides the ideal opportunity for you to combine exercise with nature enjoyment. If you are the kind who loves to explore nature, then hiking backpacking could just be the activity you’ve been searching for.

There are quite a few people who go on hiking backpacking trips because of the priceless opportunity for them to get back to nature. A single hiking backpacking trip can bring you to the most stunning places on earth. Consider how many more likewise stunning places you can visit if you go on several more hiking backpacking trips? Hiking backpacking can bring you into contact with remarkable plant and wildlife. Not only that, but there are some hiking backpacking spots that are also to be found right next to beaches, deserts, woods, rain forests, hills, and mountains. The different hiking backpacking surroundings that these various places offer have a matchless appeal all their own.

Beginners Fancy It

Compared to other forms of recreational activity, hiking backpacking is simple to start. What’s more, it does not demand high tech gear quite the way scuba diving or mountain climbing does. In actual fact, a simple hiking backpacking trip requires only a solid pair of hiking boots, some simple outdoor clothing, and a small hiking backpacking load to get you on track. And the so-called walking technique in hiking backpacking is a talent you have in your possession since childhood.

Wyoming Hiking

The Wyoming and South Dakota wilderness is a wonderful area to spend time hiking. The following Wyoming sites provide information regarding Sheridan Wyoming, Jackson Wyoming hotels, as well as Custer SD hotels.
