Balearic Islands – Must Visit Destinations

In the western portion of the Mediterranean Sea lie the Balearic Islands. This archipelago provides some of the most breathtaking scenery and scintillating water anywhere on the planet. The weather and climate enjoyed by the island chain are superlative, as you might expect of a region found amongst the waves of the Mediterranean. Tourism is big in the Balearic Islands, so one might wonder what the best of these isles might be.

Majorca is one the chain’s most popular islands. Here, you will find Palma, the capital city of not only its home island but of the entire Balearic Islands. In Majorca, you will find the Cathedral Area, a portion of the city that houses lovely churches that feature wonderful architecture and have strong ties to history. The most famous of these cathedrals is La Seu, an immense building that began construction in 1229 and not finished until 1601. Majorca is an ideal location for swimmers and sunbathers due to its ample beaches all over its Mediterranean coastline. The local cuisine here is another alluring attraction, a fact proven by the more than 2400 restaurants located all over the island. While eating in one of these establishments, visitors absolutely have to sample arros brut, a delectable meal of saffron rice, chicken, pork, and vegetables.

Nearby Majorca’s shores lies Minorca, an island so named due to its size relative to its neighbor. Culture is Minorca’s calling card because people from all types of regional backgrounds took up residence there based on its location in the western part of the Mediterranean Sea. Some of these cultures established fiestas as early as the 14th Century, and many of them are still popular with tourists today. International Opera Week and the International Organ Festival are favorites of people from all over the globe. Each year, Festes de Sant Joan is an appealing three day party that includes bonfires, equestrian parades, and bright fireworks.

If a bustling nightlife is what you seek on your vacation, then a trip to Ibiza is highly recommended. The clubs and bars here are boisterous locations that feature many world famous DJs that play house, trance, and electronica music. These are types of music that are enjoyed by dancers of all kinds, and during the summer, many of these DJs have one night each week upon which they play tunes for the revelers there. Those looking for more peaceful pursuits on Ibiza need not despair, however, because there are several portions of the island designated as U.N. World Heritage Sites. They are charming areas that please photographers, painters, and filmmakers alike.

The Balearic Islands provide something for everyone. Whether you are a history buff, a party hound, or a sightseer, there is sure to be something that tickles your fancy. It is an experience one won’t soon forget.

Cruising is one of the safest and most advanced forms of vacation available, a cruise ship is its own resort and with a good captain isn’t restricted by the weather.

Modern cruise ships boast some of the my advanced weather tracking systems aboard giving the captain the ability to track and avoid severe tropical storms and taking the individual conditions into account, can change ports in the itinerary. As for personal safety, cruising still offers one of the safest places you can take a vacation. Although its important to relax and feel safe while on a cruise its still important to use your common sense and treat the other passengers and crew as you would any other stranger.

Sensible precautions like placing jewellery, wallets and other valuables in the cabin safe is a must, a lot more people than you think will have access to your cabin, and being sure to lock the door when you are away from your cabin or asleep will help deter reprobates. The most likely place youll encounter trouble with theft is while ashore in a town or city, you are most at risk form opportunist thieves looking to lift your wallet from under your nose, using common sense and keeping valuables in secure pockets or bags will help deter petty theft.

Cruising: The Ideal Holiday For Teenagers?

It can be extremely tough to find the perfect family holiday, particularly if your family spans several different generations. But whilst younger children can be easy to keep satisfied, teenage children can be far more difficult to judge.

However, cruises may well offer the ideal option for families with teenagers. Whilst some families might think their teenage kids wouldn’t be interested, cruising actually has nearly everything most teenagers would want from a holiday.

Modern cruise liners (on the whole this aplies to sea cruises as opposed to river cruises) are packed with activities and leisure facilities, making them ideal for children of all ages. Most cruise ships will boast restaurants, cinemas, swimming pools and water slides, shopping facilities, bars, arcades and much, much more.
This means your teenage children will undoubtedly find something to do on board the ship, and they can do it without you needing to supervise them the whole time. One of the great things about cruise ships is you don’t need to worry about your teenage children getting lost, as they can’t get off the boat. So generally speaking, whatever they get up to you’ll be able to find them, or at least trust them to find their way back to the cabin.

The huge variety of destinations available from a cruise should appeal to teenagers too. They often have very short attention spans and you probably find they get bored extremely quickly and easily. With the scenery, language, cuisine and destination changing all the time however, even if they do get bored you’ll be moving somewhere different in no time.

Admittedly, cruises can be expensive, which puts a lot of people off using them for family holidays. However if you’re willling to spend the time looking online you’re almost certain to come across some decent luxury cruise deals to help make the option more affordable.

If an ocean cruise is still to expensive for you, you could always look at taking a river cruise. River cruises take in some amazing destinations and routes, with Nile River cruises being a very good example of the kind of destination and route afforded to you by river cruises.

Getting To Isle Of Wight From London

Isle Of Wight is famous for it’s landscape, beautiful seaside and its music festivals. This weekend a lot of people are planning to go to Isle Of Wight festival which starts this weekend for few days. You will have to catch a wightlink ferry to get there as there is no luxury cruises that goes to Isle of Wight for all of you posh people, just kidding.

Here is what you have to do to get to Isle of Wight from London? You will have to catch a ferry from Portsmouth from Isle of Wight now all you have to do is how you plan to get to Portsmouth. One way is obviously catch a coach to Portsmouth then get a ferry another way to catch a train to Portsmouth and finally you can always drive to Portsmouth. My personal recommendation from my experience in Isle Of Wight I will say take your car to Portsmouth and then take a car ferry to Wight.

Taking your car is the best thing to do as the public transport is not good in Isle of Wight and also you will need to drive to see beautiful scenery of Isle of Wight and the best thing is it will only tkae 1 to 2 hours to drive around the whole of the island. From London you can take the M25 then take M3 exit towards Southampton then merge into M27 after 52 miles in M3. From M27 Portsmouth is only approximately 20 miles away. Then take A3 which will take you to Portsmouth town centre and then you follow signs to Car Ferry. Taking that route will take you to the ferry station where you will be able to take the car ferry to Isle Of Wight. Then you will be asked to drive in to the ferry park and enjoy the 40 minutes ferry to Isle of Wight. You don’t have to take silversea cruises or royal caribbean cruises to get to Isle of Wight. So all in total it will take two and half hours to get to Isle of Wight from London.

Going For A Holiday

There are many reasons why people go on a cruise or a holiday. Some people like traveling so they visit different places every year. Some people are looking to go somewhere hot, where they can relax under the sun, enjoy few drinks and also get tanned. People from the UK generally go looking for some fun because we hardly have a sunny day in UK. But to be honest we had have lovely sunny weather past few days but the weather does not seem to go down. This is the reason why people look for cruises or holidays get out of UK for better weather, food and beach.

I come from a very hot country and have been based in the UK now for over 10 years. My aim is to get out of this country and visit warm countries in Africa, Europe, Asia and other parts of World. I go on royal caribbean cruises at least once a year and yes I do get paid very well. Caribbean is certainly my favorite place for a holiday and I take my wife there every year to celebrate our anniversary. We got married in Bermuda few years ago. So there is another reason why people go on a holiday for personal reasons.

Some people live in a different country and their family are based in another, so that is another reason for a holiday to visit your family. What I mean by this is, I have families based in Australia, Nepal and America and I am based in the UK. Sometimes I go to America to visit my family, sometimes Australia and sometimes Nepal. I tend to go visit my family at least once every year. Sometimes if I want some piece and quiet with my wife I go on cruising journey to Caribbean to spend time with her.

Another reason for a holiday is to take a break from work. Some people have stressful jobs and they need to take time off from that environment, which is a great idea because stress can seriously damage your health.

Do Kids Like Cruising?

Many teenagers and kids after school go straight to the room to play on their computer games PS3, XBOX or WII. There is no question that they are either on the Internet or playing their computer games while listening to music. I haven’t really met a kid or a teen who would like to spend time with their family after school. Either its the kids who go straight to their room after school, if not then the parents tell them to go do their homework and then when they go up they never come down till the dinner is ready. When this happens it grows up them and they spend less and less time with their family on their days off from school and this means the relationship between the parents and the kids can be falling apart.

I did a questionnaire research in my school few months ago asking kids on what they would like to do on their holidays. You would be surprised to know that they would rather go on cruises with their family other than visiting some of their relatives, which they can do over the weekend. Hey it wasn’t me who said it, it was the kids. Then I questioned them on where they would prefer going on a cruising holiday? Many answered that they would like to go on royal Caribbean cruises and few replied Holland American line cruises. It is interesting isn’t it I bet you never thought your children would say that but hey they do indeed. Kids these days are far more intelligent and demanding than when I was a kid.

So here is a suggestion for parents out there, take your kids on a cruising holiday. Don’t look at it as a holiday or a fun activity for your children look at it in this way you can bring your family close together. Going on a cruise will help you bond with your family even closer. You will also learn a great deal about each other on this trip and this is very important for any family.

Go To Caribbean For A Cruise

Whether you are looking for cruises or holiday packages, next destination for your holiday should be Caribbean. There are so many islands to choose from for your holiday and Caribbean island is definitely one of the most beautiful and celebrated island in the World.

The reason behind my recommendation is because Caribbean island offers something for every body, whether you go there with your family or your partner or even by yourself. For couples getaways I suggest Bermuda as it has a great range of restaurants, bars and beautiful resorts. Jamaica is another great destination for couples, with lovely beaches and great bars. There is a romantic feeling as soon as you land in Jamaica as you will feel the air is full of love. These destinations are a must see at least once in your lifetime. Another few places where you can feel the romance are St. Vincent and St. Lucia. At these destinations you might even meet some celebrities while your there.

For family adventure it is definitely the Bahamas. Royal Caribbean cruises has to finish in Bahamas for a family. Grand Bahama Island and Atlantis on Paradise Island are two beautiful resorts of Caribbean, which is idle for family. After Bahamas I would recommend Aruba as it has friendly population surrounding it and also have various options for off site resort activities.

Most people are looking for a all inclusive package for holidays to Caribbean Island. They want to see more than one island so getting a cruise holiday is ideal to see the whole of the Caribbean. I bought a similar deal when travelling to Caribbean last year. The best part of getting cruise holidays is that there is not just one destination, you will get to see few European cities along with the whole of the Caribbean (though it does depend on your package deal). There are several holiday deals to choose from while choosing a cruise so make sure to choose the right one. Make sure you do some research online before purchasing your holidays. Read reviews of people who have been on the cruise you want to go. Read their thoughts and their experiences. This can save you from a lot of hassle.

Help With Holiday Romances

Holidays to most people mean fun, sun and blowing off some of the steam that has accumulated in their everyday lives. However, one of the fastest growing sectors in the holiday industry is the singles holiday, especially 5 star cruises singles holidays. On these holidays, people travel to destinations where they can meet lots of other single people and maybe make a connection with someone that lasts. Here is a guide to the most important things to bear in mind when going on this type of holiday and how to present yourself in the best possible way.

Have a glow. If you are going to a hot location like you might do on Cunard cruises, it’s not great to be turning up looking like a milk bottle. Everyone knows that first-impressions are vital in situations such as these and having some colour to your skin always helps. this doesn’t mean going up 5 skin tones, just a light tan that shoes you get outside once in a while and take care of your appearance

Relax. If you come across as nervous and closed up, people will avoid interacting with you. You’ll find that everyone on these types of holidays are in the same situation and will much more willing to communicate if you let your guard down, if only just a little bit. If you were introduced to a very nervous person, you would wonder what they were worrying about and advise them to just be themselves. So this is exactly what you should do

Enjoy yourself. It really is not the end of the world if you don’t meet anyone you like and you should not worry about it if you don’t. Your still on holiday and you should enjoy it as you would any other. Its great if you do find someone you like and who likes you, but there will be plenty more chances to meet someone if you don’t first time. For singles cruises consider Regent Seven Seas Cruises
