The Place To Get Away – Sharm El Sheikh

Sharm el Sheikh is Egyptian holiday destination known all over the globe. Find out why so many tourists are travelling here.

I guess you are tired of daily routine and you are dreaming of getting away somewhere where your problems would blow away. Sharm el Sheikh is one of the most often chosen holiday destinations in Egypt. It is located on the Sinai Penisula so not in Africa as almost whole Egypt but in Asia.

So when is the perfect time to come to this resort? Well, there is always good time to visit Sharm el Sheikh. That is because there is always hot in here. But if you desire to avoid the high season and really hot weather I recommend visiting it in October / November or in March / April. The temperatures are reaching approximately 30 degrees of Celsius (which is 86 degrees of Fahrenheit) and also prices are lower in these months.

Sharm el Sheikh is perfect place to dive, the variety of underwater existence is stunning. Reefs are almost near every beach. Hotel beaches are designed to do snorkeling which is safer alternative to diving but still enough to see fish.

This place is especially popular among European tourists because of being near, it takes about 2 – 5,5 hours to get here by a plane depending of part of Europe. It’s worth to mention that Sharm el Sheikh airport maintain international standars of service. Note that if you are buying Egyptian Visa, airport is only place to pucharse it.

Another important factor are quite attractive prices of accomodation and board comparing to other, worlds popular holiday centers. It doesn’t mean that Sharm el Sheikh hotels are worse, even opposite, all the hotels meet high standarts.

The currency used here is Egyptian Pound which is inconvertible outside Egypt. In resorts probably in every shop, museum etc. there is also accepted Dollar and Euro, however usually at higher conversion than in banks.

Sharm el Sheikh is good starting point to see some heritage of ancient civilisation, you can find here a lot of tours to such places as: Cairo, Luxor, Jerusalem, Petra and many local excursions. Visiting those places is very good and recommended to people who like to spend their holidays in cultural and active way.

It is important to know that in Sharm el Sheikh tips are nicely seen and even necessary. Usually you should give them for some minor hotel services such as room cleaning etc.

There is no doubt that it is worth to spend holidays in Sharm el Sheikh. Sun, clear waters, attractive prices and fantastic atmosphere makes this place unique and perfect to forget about the problems, even if you are going to spend here only a week or two.

Make Magic Memories In Mexico

When people are asked to visualise the ideal holiday they tend to think of scorching weather with a beautiful tropical sky and white sandy beaches adored with palm trees. If this seems like a perfect scenario for a holiday than you can’t go far wrong with taking a vacation in Mexico.

Any many people agree Mexico is the tenth most visited country with a staggering 21.4 million international visitors travelling there each year!

The Tropic of Cancer sections the country into two halves regardingclimate; the northern region has a temperate climate (so is cooler at certain times of the year) and the weather of the southern region is almost constantly tropical. Sunscreen is a must!

A lot of Mexico’s food is influenced by the flavors one would experiences on holidays to the Caribbean, particular in the South-Eastern region which neighbors the Caribbean (albeit it, with a large expanse of water – the Gulf of Mexico located in between). Chocoholics are in for a treat as well since the cocoa treat originated from Aztec cuisine of the area and Mexican chocolate types have a very distinct taste and character.

If you take your Mexico holidays at particular times of the year, you will experience the brightly coloured and flamboyant ways in which Mexicans celebrate events. Halloween involves the natives taken picnics atop the graves of deceased loves ones and handing out skulls crafted from sugar to the children. Dia de los Muertosis a celebration of the loved ones lost to death.VValentines sees the mass giving of flowers, candy and balloons to both romantic partners and friends. Christmas remains a religious celebration in Mexico, with the 9 days prior to the 25thbeing dedicated to the plight suffered by Joseph and Mary while trying to locate a place for her to give birth to the son of Christ.

A Guide To Mexican Holiday Traditions

One of the main reasons I would like to take a vacation in Mexico is so I can personally experience the traditions that natives use to celebrate national holidays. Whereas our holiday celebrations are dominated by commercialism, there the celebrations seem a little more organic.

The Christmas Mexico holidays are still a religious celebration and If you think that you will visit during the 9 days prior to Xmas Day, you will get to see (and maybe take part in) Las Posadas – meaning “the lodging” – in which neighbors take it in turn to play “inn keepers”, hosting prayer celebrations for other friends and families which are representative of Joseph and Mary’s “Any room at the inn?” exploits. Each of the 9 days represents a month of Mary’s carried foetus Jesus.

I will definitely be trying to take one of my holidays to the Caribbean influenced Mexico around this time when I get I take my chance to visit!

Valentine’s day (or, D¬a de san Valentine) is regarded as “the day of friendship and love” and is a celebration for all people, regardless if they are in a relationship or not. Flowers, balloons and sugared candies are distributed as gifts to both lovers and mates to ensure that everyone feels loved and appreciated.

Poems and rhymes are also popular at this time for expressing emotions with those that your love is something that is socially encouraged in Mexico not just under the Tropical Sky of Valentines!

Hallow’s Eve come in two sections in Mexico. Los Angelitos falls first and sees the lives of dead children celebrated by natives. A path of flower petals from a child’s grave to the home of the mourning family is common practice to help “lead their child home”. Shortly afterwards is Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) on NOV 2nd and this celebrates the lives deceased, adult loved ones.

Sugar skulls are the traditional gift for children at this time and dedicative altars are made at home, comprised of a deceased loved one’s favourite things and foods.

Staying Safe Cruising

The yearly holiday is for some of us an essential part of the year schedule and a cheap flight to Spain can seem like a very easy option at the time of booking, but with hidden airport costs and the stresses air travel brings a relaxing holiday at an easy pace on Luxury Cruises from an operator like Cunard Cruises.
Cruising is one of the safest and most advanced forms of vacation available, a cruise ship is its own resort and with a good captain isn’t restricted by the weather.

Modern cruise ships boast some of the my advanced weather tracking systems aboard giving the captain the ability to track and avoid severe tropical storms and taking the individual conditions into account, can change ports in the itinerary. As for personal safety, cruising still offers one of the safest places you can take a vacation. Although its important to relax and feel safe while on a cruise its still important to use your common sense and treat the other passengers and crew as you would any other stranger.

Sensible precautions like placing jewellery, wallets and other valuables in the cabin safe is a must, a lot more people than you think will have access to your cabin, and being sure to lock the door when you are away from your cabin or asleep will help deter reprobates. The most likely place youll encounter trouble with theft is while ashore in a town or city, you are most at risk form opportunist thieves looking to lift your wallet from under your nose, using common sense and keeping valuables in secure pockets or bags will help deter petty theft.

Regardless of all the above, cruising remains to be one of the safest ways you can take a vacation and using common sense will serve you well and with so many Cruise Deals online its hard to resist.

Holiday Homes For Rent To Families And Couples In Portugal

You want to book the best villa for your summer vacation and you do not know where to start. There are so many choices but you can filter a lot of them by answering a few simple questions like is a swimming pool important? Do you want a golf course nearby? Are you interested in a beach holiday or a destination with a few activities? Does the heat of the sun play a big part in your decision making process?

One thing is for certain, if you want to have a holiday in a place where the weather is really good but not over hot most of the time then you should consider booking a silver coast villa which is situated on the Silver Coast of Portugal and as well as being close to all the best that the area has to offer, is also cheap enough to get you interested. The cost of eating out is not so bad either. Of course, if the whole point of booking a villa is to do self catering, then you could just use the fully equipped kitchen and cook all your meals at home. It is a silver coast holiday villa with a pool too, great for the whole family.

There are so many activities to excite you and all of them easy to get to by car, not more than 20 minutes away. There is a sailing school at Foz Do Arelho on the banks of the lagoon where there is always calmer waters for beginners and sometimes a good stiff breeze if you know what you are doing and like to push the limits a little. They have all sorts of vessel there, the best of which is probably the catamaran in several sail sizes.

The countryside near the villas is quiet and full of orchards and vineyards where if you want, you can stroll and ramble along the footpaths to your hearts content. The local people are warm and friendly and a lot of the younger ones speak English. You will find that the majority of restaurants and shops have someone who can speak English so communication is normally simple and your holiday more rewarding. It is not like the Algarve on the Silver Coast where everyone you meet is either English or speaks fluent English, but does that really matter? Surely a holiday abroad is to get away from all that!

Your choices for tourist attractions are varied and many. There are three excellent beaches within 25 minutes drive of the villas. Peniche and Baleal are just beautiful and all soft white or yellow sand. A walk between the two places along the beach takes an hour each way and cafés at either end of the beach will provide refreshments. Sao Martinho Do Porto has an almost totally enclosed clamshell shaped bay and so the waters are calm all the time. The beach there gets really busy in the summer. The lagoon entrance at Foz Do Arelho has pools for safe swimming and the road is lined with cafés and restaurants for a great choice in drinks and meals.

Booking A Package Holiday : A Short Guide For Tourists

Planning a holiday can seem like a painfully labor intensive task – you have to research and book flights and hotels, make sure that you have transport on your holiday, ensure everyone in your family will be catered for, and all the other points that you must bear in mind for everything to run smoothly. This is why a large proportion of people choose to go on package holidays.

In order to make sure that there are no nasty surprises or unexpected financial expenses, it is advisable to plan your holiday to the nth degree. Even with a package holiday, there are numerous important questions to ask the holiday operator so you know precisely what you are getting for your money.

The most important question you need to ask your holiday operator is exactly what is included in the price of the holiday. Although some prices for holidays may seem high, if the price includes all meals, inland travel costs, and accommodation, then that price is probably justified. Most package holidays also include flights and/or ferry or bus travel expenses too.

You also need to find out if there is a particular theme that the holiday is based on, for example an archaeology theme or wine-tasting, or possibly an orienteering expedition. You really do not want to be paying for something that you and your family do not enjoy doing. Make sure you know exactly where you will be going and what kind of activities you will be doing or expected to do while you are there.

Although it may seem on the face of it, a strange question, but you really do need to know the average age of the participants on the holiday. Some holidays are specifically aimed at elderly couples and individuals and this can mean that they are not suited for younger couples or families. The slower pace of the holiday may be perfect for the older generation but can seem boring to a younger audience.

Some holidays are designed around a set theme such as wine-tasting or fishing and with these specific themes you need to be certain of other factors. If you are expecting to be escorted in groups, how big are the groups? How knowledgeable or experienced are the guides? Exactly what accommodation will you be staying in during the course of the holiday? It is also sensible to ask whether there are any additional expenses that you will be required to pay for during the holiday.

When you’re visiting a foreign country it’s good manners to try and speak the local tongue, not only will the local people appreciate the effort you’ve gone to as you’ve learnt a few words, but you will deliver a clear message to the nearby people that you ultimately show an interest for their country and your eager to learn more.

I’ve added some useful words to the table below which will make your journeys a little easier as many countries in the African continent speak Swahili or a variation of it.
As well as the useful terms iv’e added a few which may get you our of a sticky situation.

I went to the trouble of writing this piece as I feel it may benefit people who have booked or are look at Safari Holidays I wanted to teach myself a little Swahili before i booked my African adventure.

Please be ware that not all African countries speak in Swahili like Mozambique, When on Mozambique Holidays expect to come across many Portuguese tongued people

It’s Rule of thumb for many country’s to teach my mother tongue (English) at Infant school levels, which is very beneficial to either me and or you as we’re most likely going to be understood wherever in the world you may venture to.

On South Africa Holidays there’s little need to learn the words above as the majority of people speak English is a south African dialect.

Caribbean Twenty20 Boom For Antigua And Barbados

Sport tourism will give Antigua and Barbados an economic boost at the beginning of the next year with the news that the second annual Caribbean Twenty20 Cricket Tournament will be held in the sunny island nations. International interest in the tournament will be significant, with the Canadians returning for a second year and the addition of English teams from Hampshire and Somerset. They’ll be facing some of the biggest names in West Indian cricket. But should you be interest in what could be one of the most truly inclusive ever all inclusive holidays , time is running short! Antigua holidays will cover the qualifying stages between January 10th and 15th. The remainder will be played in Barbados between January 18th and 23rd.

Established in the 2010 season, the Caribbean Twenty20 Tournament was established due to concerns about waning youth participation and interest. The story is the same internationally: Twenty20 was created to make Cricket a more appealing spectator sport, with matches typically concluded in three and a half hours. The Caribbean is one of the great Cricketing homelands, but its rich history of famous Cricketers hasn’t stopped the decline. The national sport of Antigua and Barbados, a decline is concerning for these cultures which have traditionally found Cricket as a major element. Seeing a Twenty20 match in the Caribbean would be a fantastic experience. Though it is probably worth observing how few people would be inclined to moan at the long-form of Cricket played out under a tropical sun!

The format does lend itself to a less committed Cricket fan however. There is a lot to be said for splitting your Barbados holidays with a day of sport (perhaps the finals, for a sneak peak at the time that will be flying out to the Twenty20 Champions’ League). Cricket is just the bonus of course: All the sun, sea and surf you can ever want await you in the premier Caribbean locations of Antigua and Barbados.

We Have Snow And They Have Summer!

If you are located in England like myself you are probably experiencing numbing cold and Miserable weather. as I am an Englishman i live a pessimistic life so i have negative views on every especially the weather, it really gets warm in England so its forever cold, but us English never get used to it.
When i eventually rolled out of my warm bed this morning into the bitter cold i thought to myself “I wish i was in the Caribbean! its always hot and sunny over there”? ……. Definitely beats my situation!! This definitely trumps my current situation!

The people who live on the Caribbean dont realise how lucky they are! Having a tropical climate which stays hot all year round, the surprising thing is the people actually dislike their summers because it gets way too hot, the beaches, towns and streets are baron as people dare to step out of the shade encase they get burnt this seems actually ridiculous to me as id personally be laying on the beautiful white beaches, Chilled drink in my hand a good book ,dripping from head to toe in factor 50 sun cream then Id occasionally take a dip in the bath like oceans, it just seems to good to be true, I wish they could experience what were going through they then might appreciate the beautiful weather they have been blessed with.

Thousands of tourists have been booking their Dominican Republic Holidays and I dont blame them! It beats being covered in snow due to miserable weather, fortunate couples are planned or have booked their Caribbean weddingsin preparation for when they tie the knot next year.

I would kill to go on Antigua Holidays Right now!! But with Christmas around the corner I highly doubt I could dig that deep into my pocket to afford it, so I say roll on the English summer.

Caribbean Holidays Sunnier Than Economy

Tourists are being encouraged to continue their Caribbean holidays as a destructive but thankfully relatively un-deadly hurricane season draws to a close.

Hurricane Tomas claimed the lives of 14 people on the island of St. Lucia at the beginning of November. With houses flattened and infrastructure damaged, the Caribbean Catastrophe Risk Insurance Facility (CCRIF) quickly paid out $13 million to Barbados, St. Lucia and St. Vincent. Whilst the speedy recovery of St Lucia (surely the worst hit of the islands) has been a healthy suprise, the destruction has been a ammunition for those in the Caribbean who feel that the economies there aren’t entirely sustainable. More optimistically, the twelve hurricanes of the 2010 season managed to completely avoid the US coast, keeping tourism’s major source market alive and kicking.

The Caribbean economy is heavily dependent on tourism, and bad weather is always excessively bad news. Whilst some islands like Trinidad and Tobago have remained resilient due to oil and gas resources, the reliance on timber and agriculture aside from tourism puts a lot of investment in resources that can be easily destroyed by hurricanes (as happened in St. Lucia). Critics have been quick to point to this lack of diversity in produce as a decisive issue, but they also believe that tourism should be targetting outside the comfort zones of Europe and North America.

The problem with tourism isn’t that the sun has stopped shining of course. A trip to Barbados, St. Lucia, Jamaica or any of the rest of these fabulous islands is a beautiful and unspoilt and wonderful as it’s ever been. The problem lies in the fact that the Caribbean no longer has a monopoly on the tropical paradise image. Mauritius holidays are among a barrage of alternatives halfway around the world, and also of great appeal to the European market. Tourists are also keen to discover new tropical destinations, such as Thailand holidays and its brilliant tropical continental climate.
