Do you like to do things all by yourself or are you the kind of person who enjoy having things done for you. When traveling, especially internationally, you can hire a tour company to make all the plans and reservations or you can do it all on you own but there is one thing that has already been decided for you. When traveling internationally, you must have a passport no matter how old or how young you are. If you have a young child or baby, a infant passport will be necessary so it is important to check with any of the number of online passport agencies available and get the process going.

There are all different levels of guided tours so while planning your vacation, investigate and consider the pros and cons of guided assistance while touring a foreign country. Vacationing can be easier when someone else plans your itinerary. Having previously experienced the area where you are traveling, the tour company can insure that you dont miss a spectacular, rare or historic site but if you try to go it alone, there is a lot you could miss. Many tours are all inclusive, providing the traveler accommodations, meals and transportation and these companies provide an advanced itinerary so the vacationer has an opportunity to enjoy the anticipation of what they will be seeing from famous landmarks, natural sites and historic locations.

Its important to remember that if you decide to do it all yourself, not only travel to the country will be your responsibility but also travel within that country. Bus and train schedules can be difficult to navigate in a foreign country but independence also provides freedom so if you dont like keeping to any schedule while on vacation, independent site-seeing will probably be the best bet for you. You see, a quick passport application is just a click away on your computer so be sure you get your passport in your hand before you start making your plans.

Guided tours have their pros and cons. Having such a strict regimen while traveling often leaves people feeling exhausted and wanting to take a vacation from their vacation. Schedules and set time slots take away the freedom of vacation, but it also grants freedom from having to plan more than you have to. With a tour guide you can trust, you know you will be visiting the best spots and experiencing a lot of what the country has to offer. However, sometimes these companies take tourists to the more “touristy” locations. And while this gives you a good look, and maybe even some special opportunities to explore deeper, it can feel like a superficial sort of adventure. However, on the other hand, some travel companies offer closer in-depth looks at a culture as opposed to visiting the obvious places.

Independent travel also has its pros and cons. Obviously, one of the requirements of traveling without a tour guide is having to plan everything yourself. However, many see this supposed downfall as a pro. Being completely in control of your schedule allows for total freedom, meaning you can decide exactly what you want to do and when you want to do it. You also get a whole different kind of cultural experience. Seeing things for yourself and exploring your way give you a more intimate view of your destination. This can go the other way though. Sometimes, without a helpful tourist guide to steer you clear, you end up at the basic, super crowded tourist locations.

The decision to travel independently or enlist a guided tour company to plan you vacation, a lot depends on the type of person you are. Do you see yourself as an adventurer who really doesnt like anyone telling them what to do or do you enjoy the freedom from planning and worry that is provided when someone else makes all the plans and arrangements? No matter what decision you make, getting quick passports for your entire family, including a babies passport if you have small children, is a necessary part of any international travel so go online and find a passport agency. Whether you do all the work yourself or let someone else handle it, adventure awaits you as you travel internationally.

If you are considering going to South Africa on your next vacation, you are in for a truly unique travel experience. With the hugely popular Soccer World Cup taking place there this year, South Africa is becoming the hottest new destination as more and more people find out how wonderful the country is. Before you head off on your journey though, make sure that you are well prepared, which includes making sure you have a valid US passport. Don’t forget your children will need passports too, so make sure you apply for your child or infant American passport well in advance.

As mentioned, South Africa is host to the 2010 World Cup thisyear. Due to the immense popularity of this Soccer tournament, which is held only every four years, people from all over the world are traveling to South Africa to cheer on their team and millions more are seeing it from home as they watch on TV. The month-long event has been cause for many changes and improvements in South Africa that will far outlast the tournament, including new and renovated hotels, better transportation systems and increased security. All of these changes make travel there even more appealing for potential tourists.

Johannesburg, a large city in South Africa, is a great destination for those looking for a dose of African city culture. With its exciting atmosphere and busy city life, Johannesburg makes for a city experience that offers much more than your average city. Getting your United States passports now means you can explore Johannesburg for yourself before the summer is over.

Cape Town is another popular city in South Africa. Located at the foot of Table Mountain on the Cape of Good Hope, Cape Town is home to great food, exquisite wine, and national landmarks. Wineries, cafes, and vineyards provide an opportunity to spend an afternoon sampling some of Africa’s famous wines. As a hub for some of the best modern art and designers in the world, Cape Town is a place where African culture is at its richest.

You can get back to nature on an authentic African safari. With over 20,000 native plant species and an abundance of wildlife, South Africa’s natural beauty is breathtaking. Take a tour in the bushveld in the northern part of the country to see lions, giraffes, leopards and other wildlife in their natural habitat. Other great places for safaris include the Waterberg and Kruger National Park, where you won’t want to miss the famous white lions.

Before you make your travel arrangements to visit this amazing country, be sure that you are well prepared, whether it be an infant USA passport, new passport or passport renewal, getting your passports now will make life much easier during your planning. Also keep in mind that the seasons in South Africa are reversed and June actually falls during their winter months, so pack appropriately!

Every once in a while, it just so happens that your pregnancy and travel plans coincide. And sometimes those travel plans require a passport. Many mothers and families wonder how they will obtain a baby passport for a child that was literally just delivered. They must follow the same rules as other citizens, but with a few notable exceptions. If you find yourself with a due date that is uncomfortably close to your departure date, there are some things you can do. However, being prepared can make things significantly easier when it gets close to travel time.

Since each country has their own rules and regulation, it is wise to investigate the rules that apply in the country you reside. The United States requires the presentation of an official birth certificate for the issuance of a newborn passport. The presentation of a birth announcement or some hospital paperwork will not suffice. While it can take a month or so to get your babys birth certificate if left to the tradition mail service, this process will go a lot quicker if a visit is paid to the courthouse located in the birth county.

A social security number is requested on all passport applications but for a newborn passport, this space can be filled in with eight 0s. You may think that this might slow the process of receiving your childs passport but although there may be an extra fee, delivery of the passport, unlike that of your child, can be expedited. It may cost a little more but it will be worth the piece of mind for sure.

Like adults, you will need to get newborn U S passport photos. In these photos, the newborn cannot be wearing any head covering and both eyes must be open. At the airport, the custom agent will use the eye color and the hair color in order to distinguish this newborn from a similar looking one. Wherever you’re taking your child to get his or her passport photos taken, be sure to phone in ahead of time. Sometimes special arrangements need to be made in order to accommodate a newborn.

A child’s passport, even if he or she is a newborn, is valid for up to five years. While the child may look drastically different in this amount of time, the passport remains valid. An adult’s passport, on the other hand, is valid for up to ten years. The reasoning behind this is simple. A growing child’s looks change more frequently than an adult, so they have to update their passport photos more often than an adult would have to.

So if you’re planning on traveling in the future, but your travel date is uncomfortably close with your delivery date, you don’t need to panic. Simply preparing yourself and figuring out your county’s policies can make a world of difference. Being prepared means you can make sure you get a newborn passport and arrive at your destination safely and on time.

Traveling with a baby or a young child can be difficult and often embarrassing. From getting child US passports to changing diapers in an airplane bathroom, it seems as if every turn presents a new challenge. With the proper planning, your airline trip (believe it or not) can go smoothly.

Preparation can ultimately make or break your flight experience, and there is no such thing as being to prepared. When your travel plans are formulated, and you’ve begun to shop for airline tickets, double check to see if your airline provides a free flight for your child. Most airlines allow a child under two years of age to sit on your lap but check just in case. If your airline doesn’t provide this, you will need to use a carseat. Booking your significant other in a seat separate from you may prove to be useful, especially on long flights. This arrangement allows you and your loved one to switch off baby responsibilities, letting one rest. Check your airline’s stroller policy. Most airlines now don’t allow strollers to be stored in the overhead compartment, so they have to be stowed.

A few weeks in advance, make sure you know where your family’s passports are. If you can’t find them, get a passport application and reapply for a new one as soon as possible. Be sure you have a birth certificate to present at the airport as well. Planning ahead can help you reduce stress leading up to your flight time. You will need to get a new one if you’ve been recently married or divorced, as well as if you have had yours for over 10 years. A child passport is only valid for 5 years, so check each accordingly. Arrange to be picked up from the airport if you don’t plan on getting a rental car, and make sure there is a seat for your baby.

There doesn’t need to be any nightmares involved with preparing you and your family to travel. Planning ahead can make the process run smoother and allow you to enjoy your vacation. Start your passport application early if you are traveling outside the United States, and be sure to apply for a passport for children for anyone under 16. Don’t become flustered if someone gives you a hard time about an unhappy baby. You are the one raising your child and other people don’t know how to work with your family. So grab Baby, hop aboard, and bon voyage!

Although some people seem to think otherwise, infants engaging in international travel must have a valid U.S. passport. All U.S. citizens must have a valid passport for international travel. An infant U.S. passport is very similar to normal passports, with a few exceptions.

While it may seem silly to force an infant to carry a passport, there are several practical reasons that make it necessary for all U.S. citizens to carry passports during international travel. First of all, it is a matter of national security and border security. The government needs to know who is entering and leaving a country at a given time. Allowing infants to forego passports would make it easy to sneak in infant illegal immigrants–an action that seems innocuous, but could have serious consequences twenty years down the line.

Something else to consider are such horrible things as human trafficking and kidnapping. Believe it or not, this happens with parents of children who are trying to get away from another parent. The angry mother who has just lost her child custody case or perhaps the father that has disappeared to another country and suddenly shows up and wants his child back.

The infant or child will get their passport in much the same way that an adult does. It goes without saying that the child will not be able to do this on their own, so mom and or dad are going to have to do all of the work in order for a valid passport to be obtained. In addition to the forms, do not forget to get the passport photos of the child.

Since the children will not be able to sign the infant American passport, this must also be handled by the parents. This is like more of a co-signature in that the parent signs there name in place of the child. It will go next to the child on the passport and serve as their signature until the child can actually get a passport renewal and sign the passport on their own.

In order for the co-signature to be valid, the parent will have to sign their child’s name and then their name next to it along with their relationship. In other words, it would read: child’s name, parents’ signature and then mother, father or guardian in parenthesis. The ideal situation would be that the parent that is signing the passport would actually be accompanying the child on the trip. This could alleviate any challenges that may be faced going through customs.

If a child is not yet 16 the passport can only be obtained if consent is given by the parents. The obvious reason for this is so that one parent does not get the passport and take the child out of the country without the knowledge of the other parent. This will not be a problem for parents that are still together, but if there has been a divorce or separation, make sure time is allotted to get everything together so there is not a problem in securing tickets or making the trip.

Clearly, there are a lot of sound reasons behind the laws that require an infant us passport. Because international travel is always a concern for national security, it is imperative that all citizens carry their passport, even infants and newborns. Anyone with an infant considering international travel should most definitely take steps to start the passport application process as soon as possible.

We mentioned earlier that adults and minors need to fulfill the same basic requirements. These requirements include the Form DS-11. This is a form that first time passport applicants need to complete. This would, of course, apply to minors who haven’t had a passport before. They will also need to fill out the DS-11. It is also worth noting that this form shouldn’t be signed until the applicant or the guardian is told to do so at the passport office.

Along with the DS-11, you will also be required to submit proof of your citizenship. You can do this by submitting the necessary documents that will establish that you are a legal US citizen. You can submit any of the following documents to establish this: your birth certificate, your certificate of citizenship, your certificate of naturalization, or a consular report on your birth if you were born abroad. Any of these documents that you submit will be returned to you along with your new passport, or sent in a separate mailing.

You will also need to submit two color passport-size photos. The US Department of State has very specific instructions regarding these photos. It’s therefore important that you check these specifications before having your passport photo taken.

From those basic requirements, we move on to the special requirements for children passports. Along with the documents previously mentioned, minors should also submit a written parental consent. If you are a parent or a guardian of an applicant, you must first know under which category you fall under. You should know that there are different procedures undertaken by parents/guardians of different statuses (e.g. single parent, both parents, guardian, etc.), so check with the passport office first for the guidelines.

Parents or guardians must also submit a proof of their relationship with the applicant. Also, they will need to submit a photocopy of the ID of the parents. This ID should be the same one that the parent or guardian will present at the passport office.

If you are the parent or a guardian of a child passport applicant, make sure that you are aware of the guidelines, and know the requirements needed to apply for one. Doing this will help you save a lot of time. This is especially important if you are going to submit the documents in person. You’ll save time as you’ll do everything right the first time. If, however, you are unsure about the requirements, give the passport office a call to confirm or inquire.

There you have it, everything you need to know about children’s passport applications. Simply put, it just combines special passport requirements on top of the basic requirements. Once you have figured that out, then you’ll realize how easy and straightforward it is to apply for a US passport.

The days are gone when airlines will just believe that you have your own child when traveling. You will need to show identification for any child who is traveling. Even an infant must have a children passport to travel so you will need to get one if you want to fly on an airplane. This includes travel to even Canada or Mexico.

Getting a passport is a good idea for your child anyway. They are good for five years and there are many circumstances where your child may need photo identification that is legally recognized. You can change the photo every six months as they grow to keep the picture current.

Be prepared to bring a birth certificate for your child to prove they are a citizen of the United States. This is the seal certificate and not a copy. The card form does not apply and is not accepted. If you do not have a U. S. Certificate then any legal document that proves the child is a citizen will work. Ask ahead of time if you are unsure. They will keep the documentation to submit with the application so be prepared for that and get a copy if you need it for something else.

You will also need proof that you are the parent. You will need to prove this with a birth certificate or custody papers if it is an adoption. If one parent is not present and both have custody you will need a notarized signature on a form you get from the post office or download online of the absent parent. If you have sole custody and the other parent is not in the picture you will need your signed court documents to prove it when applying for a passport for your child.

You will also need your child’s social security number for the DS-11 application that is submitted to the federal government. It is best to bring your child’s social security card with you just in case. They will not collect this piece of material.

Make sure you have your identification as well. You as the parent need a picture ID to prove who you are. It is great if you have a new passport, but you can also use your driver’s license or military ID. Check with their official site if you do not have these for other acceptable forms of identification.

Many sites will take your photo but you can also bring your own. You just need to meet their requirements. Many photo shops will take a passport photo for you and give you two copies of the picture for the application.

Be prepared for the costs of a new passport as well. They are around eighty dollars each to date so plan for this. The exact amount can be calculated on the USPS website or other sites. Have all of your documentation ready, photos and enough of a payment to get a child’s passport. You will receive it in about six weeks so plan ahead and be prepared.
