Travel to Turkey for your next holiday abroad! Turkey is a country that is adept at blending the old with the new, natural wonders vie with the excitement of cosmopolitan cities for the attention of tourists from all over the world. Turkey is a Eurasian country: part of it is in western Asia and part in southeastern Europe. Turkey is a cradle of world civilization and a place of ancient history and archaeological sites. It is offers rocking nightlife, fabulous restaurants, all sorts of outdoor activities including paragliding, yachting, diving and ballooning and a coastline that spans almost 6,500 km. Turkey is surrounded by sea on three sides!

At the crossroads of Europe and Asia, Turkey is a country of many cultural influences. Thirteen different civilizations have settled Turkey since ancient times. Turkey is an interesting mix of all of these cultures and the contrasts between modern civilization and the civilizations of antiquity. Turkey is the place to enjoy a unique blend of Eastern and Western culture.

A holiday in Turkey is fun at any time of the year but peak months are April through October. The warm, sunny, sandy beaches are one of Turkey’s big draws. But the cuisine of Turkey is undeniably an excellent reason to visit this country as well. Would you like a meze style meal of small plates, accompanied by one of Turkey’s superb red or white wines and followed by a scrumptious dessert? The cuisine of Turkey is varied and exhibits the influence of all of the cultures that have lived in Turkey. One must visit Turkey to appreciate the distinctive tastes of Turkey!

Any tourist who thinks that they will only find Muslim archaeological sites will be surprised to discover that Turkey is also well known for its Christian history. Visitors can follow in the steps of St. Paul, the early saint who was born in Tarsus. Each one of Turkey’s many regions offers museums and historical sites for visitors on holiday. In the area of the Aegean you can visit the Archaeological Museum near Konak Square. Its statues of Poseidon and Demeter once stood in the Agora. In Gaziantep, in southeastern Turkey, you might spend an afternoon at the Archaeology Museum that is home to artifacts from Neolithic, Hittite and Roman times.

Any visitor to Turkey is sure to be entranced by the sights and sounds of this ancient and modern country straddling the continents of Asia and Europe!

The last thing any traveler wants to do is to discover, at the end of a long journey, that their chosen hotel is substandard or, even worse, that the room they have booked is no longer available. To find a hotel that suits your needs, it’s best to look online for hotel reviews. There are lots of hotel review sites on the internet. Most of these sites not only offer reviews of hotels with a number of stars but with written reviews as well. Travelers often seek the following in a hotel:

Cleanliness and friendliness: Certainly you want your hotel to be clean and have a friendly staff, no matter the price of the hotel. If you’re willing to spend more you may be able to procure a room in a hotel with a concierge. A concierge will be able to tell you the best restaurants to eat in and the best places to visit.

Security: 24/7 front desk staff is a must in a good hotel. Good hotels also have full security staff. Key cards are the best keys. They can be discarded when a lodger checks out and they can be replaced if they are lost.

Cost: Cost is perhaps the most important aspect of hotel accommodations to many travelers. If you visit a hotel review site you will be offered a range of prices that will give you a good idea of what you should expect to pay. If you must choose the most inexpensive room, you must. But consider paying a little more to get some extras like a hotel dining room or a pool for the kids.

Hotel address: You can save money on hiring a car if you stay in a hotel that is near restaurants and places to visit. If you prefer to hire a car, choose a hotel that is either near car rental shops or rental shops that deliver the car to the hotel.

The best way to book a clean, safe, and friendly hotel room in a convenient location is to do some internet research and then call the hotel and check on certain aspects that interest you. Be sure to specify if you plan to arrive late. Get the name of the person you speak with and have them email you a confirmation so you can check on the details of your reservation before you arrive. And have a wonderful time!

London is full of wonderful places to visit and things to see but there are several attractions that every visitor must see.

- Big Ben: the bell in the clock at the north end of Westminster Palace. Big Ben is the largest chiming clock with four faces in the world. It is the largest free standing clock tower in the world.

- The Tower of London: is on the north bank of the River Thames. It was founded in 1066 during the Norman Conquest. The White Tower, from which the castle takes its name, was built by William the Conqueror. It became a prison in 1100 and has been used as one since. The tower of London is a group of building set within two concentric rings of walls and a moat that surrounds it.

- London Bridge: spans the River Thames. It connects London City and Southwark in central London. The present bridge opened in 1793, one of many bridges to have appeared at the same site. In fact, a bridge has existed at or near the present site since the time of the Roman occupation, which was nearly 2,000 years ago.

- The Buckingham Palace Changing of the Guard: London’s number one tourist attraction. In 1702 it was built as the London Home of the Duke of Buckingham. The state rooms of Buckingham Palace are open to the public from late July to September. The military groups that guard the royal residences in London are the Queen’s Guard and the Queen’s Life Guard.

- The London Eye (Millennium Wheel): is the largest Ferris wheel is Europe. It stands 443 feet or 135 metres tall. The number one paid tourist attraction in the UK, it is the largest Ferris wheel in Europe. It is on the South Bank of the Thames in the borough of Lambeth at the western end of Jubilee Gardens.

- Princess Diana’s Memorial: was designed to express Princess Diana’s love of children. Its cornerstone was laid in 2003 and was officially opened in July of 2004 by Queen Elizabeth II. It can be found in the southwest corner of Hyde Park.

Any visitor to London could be kept busy 24/7 visiting exciting places. The ones mentioned above are just the “tip of the iceberg” of things to do and see when visiting historic London.

The last thing any traveler wants to do is to discover, at the end of a long journey, that their chosen hotel is substandard or, even worse, that the room they have booked is no longer available. One of the best ways to find a hotel that suits you is to check the internet for reviews. There are many places on the internet that review hotels and other types of accommodations. Most award stars or some other icon to hotels according to reviews. Often theres a written review as well. Most travelers are looking for certain qualities in hotel accommodations

Cleanliness and friendliness: Most travelers want to ensure that their room will be clean and that the hotels staff will be friendly. If you want to spend a bit more money, a concierge is a nice addition to the staff of the hotel in which youre staying. The concierge can tell you all of the good local places to eat and visit.

A safe stay: Safety should be a prime attribute of any hotel. Any good hotel will have 24 hour staff at the front desk. In addition, a security staff is a must. The safest hotels offer key cards: plastic keys that can be replaced if lost and are discarded when a visitor checks out.

Price: If you check hotel review sites you will find a range of prices for each hotel. The lowest price is not always the best price, taking into consideration that more expensive hotels may have more to offer. When paying for a hotel room you are paying for extras like room service, restaurants on site and exercise facilities.

Hotel address: You can save money on hiring a car if you stay in a hotel that is near restaurants and places to visit. If you prefer to hire a car, choose a hotel that is either near car rental shops or rental shops that deliver the car to the hotel.

Brighton England is the summer place to be in the UK, and all other seasons as well! Take a walk along Brightons lovely beaches, jump into some water sports or spend some time at the Royal Pavilion.

Brighton is, of course, known for its long, cool, stretch of beaches. As a matter of fact, Brighton Beach has been voted a Top 10 city beach attraction destination in the world! The Brighton Pier is behind the beach so you can jump right out of the water and into one of Brightons many beachside clubs when it gets too warm on the beach. Enjoy Brightons world famous blue flag beach, take a leisurely stroll along the water, or stop into one of Brightons cafes or restaurants for a cool drink or something to eat. You wont be able to wait for evening when Brightons evening venues open for a whirlwind night of clubbing.

Dont bypass the Royal Pavilion. It is still one of the most dazzling and exotic of all of the UKs many beautiful buildings. Built between 1815 and 1822 by architect John Nash, it was the summer home of Prince Regent, George IV. You will enjoy historic art and furniture, some of it lent by HM The Queen herself. Dont miss the Palace tearoom that overlooks the gardens and the Palace Shop is a fun visit for a little shopping.

Brighton offers many cool, green relaxing places to get away from the hustle bustle of the beach and pier. As a matter of fact, there are 98 parks and gardens in the area. One of them is Kipling Gardens in Rottingdean. Rudyard Kipling lived at The Elms from 1897-1902 where you will find the Kipling Gardens. You can picnic in the garden and check out the herb garden and the croquet lawn.

All told, there are 14,000 acres in the Brighton and Hove area that have been awarded National Park status in recognition of the beauty of the South Downs. Go for a bike ride or a walk and enjoy the local plants and wildlife. It is a place of peace and quiet right near the activity of the beaches and night life.

Brighton is the place to be in England, not only in the summer but all the other seasons as well. Brighton Pier, for example, is only closed one day a year Christmas Day. Make a point of spending your next holiday in Brighton. You wont be sorry that you did!

Tunisia, a land of ancient history and modern hotels, restaurants and international airports offers a perfect destination for a weary holiday traveler. You will be entranced by its history, friendliness, fabulous restaurants and hotels.

Tunisia is blessed with a wonderful climate and a scenic coastline. It is bordered by the Mediterranean on the north and east and Libya, to the southeast and Algeria to the west. Many civilizations and empires have passed through Tunisia, leaving their footprint along the way. Tunisia has been home to the Phoenicians, Romans, Vandals, Byzantines, Turks, Spanish and French. Todays Tunisians live in a culture that reflects the passage of all of these people through their country.

Tunisias long and colorful history is preserved in the many hundreds of historical sites and museums that dot the country. The enormous National Museum of Bardo (near Tunis) was a 13th century palace and has been expanded over time so that its now a an amazing example of 17th and 18th century Arab architecture and interior d©cor. It boasts vaulted ceilings, galleries and cupolas. It also houses the finest collection of mosaics in the world! The Carthage Museum is famed for its excellent collection of Roman and Punic artifacts, including items that would have been used in everyday life. The extensive display of jewelry must not be missed. There is also an extremely distinctive display of Punic masks made of colored glass paste.

The Dar Ben Abdallah Museum of Traditional Arts and Customs, in Tunis, is housed on the bottom floor of the 18th century palace of the same name. It is the center of the old city of Tunis, the medina. This museum offers traditional Tunisian arts and exhibits traditional customs of the city of Tunis in a traditional setting. Keep in mind that most museums in Tunisia are closed on Mondays. Tunisia is a land of festivals. Every city and village, no matter how large or small, hosts festivals to which visitors are welcome. The Saharian Festival celebrates the vast expanses of the Sahara. It is in Douz and occurs during the second week of November. If you are a devotee of world class music, dont miss the International Music Festival at the El Jem Coliseum from mid-July to mid-August. What could be lovelier than listening to world famous orchestras and artists on a warm Tunisian evening under the stars in a Roman coliseum?

What is the food in Tunisia like? Bread is the specialty of Tunisia. In the country you will find unleavened bread baked in special clay ovens called tabounas. Tunisians eat bread at every meal and every part of Tunisia has its own special bread. Lamb is the Tunisians meat of choice. Due to its long coastline, there is also a plethora of seafood and olive oil, salads and all sorts of herbs and spices including cumin, coriander, garlic, parsley, and dried peppers enhance the flavor of Tunisian food. Tunisians love hot and spicy food but often serve their signature spicy condiment, Harissa, as a side dish for tourists who arent up to the hot food. Dont pass up dessert. Turkish Baklava, a confection made of layers of crispy pastry, ground nuts and cinnamon and soaked in honey syrup is too good to miss.

Tunisia is a fascinating place and an excellent holiday destination.

There are many, many attractions that tourists in London visit annually but there are several that every London visitor has to see.

- Big Ben: the bell in the clock at the north end of Westminster Palace. Big Ben is the largest chiming clock with four faces in the world. It is the largest free standing clock tower in the world.

- The Tower of London: is on the north bank of the River Thames and was founded in 1066 as part of the Norman Conquest. William the Conqueror built the White Tower, from which the castle takes its name. It has been used as a prison since 1100. The tower is a series of buildings set within two concentric circles of walls and a moat. The Tower of London is very important to the history of England.

- The Changing of the Guard: probably the number one tourist attraction in all of London. It was built as the London home of the Duke of Buckingham in 1702. You can visit Buckingham Palaces state rooms from late July to September. The two groups of infantry and cavalry that guard the royal homes in London are called the Queens Guard and the Queens Life Guard.

- The London Eye, or the Millennium wheel: is an enormous Ferris wheel that stands 443 feet or 135 metres tall. It is the number one paid tourist attraction in the UK and the tallest Ferris wheel in Europe. It can be found at the western end of Jubilee Gardens, in the borough of Lambeth, on the South bank of the River Thames.

- Princess Dianas Memorial: was officially opened in July 2004 by Queen Elizabeth II. It was designed to express Princess Dianas love of children. It is in the southwest corner of Hyde Park.

Any visitor to London could be kept busy 24/7 visiting exciting places. The ones mentioned above are just the tip of the iceberg of things to do and see when visiting historic London.

England’s South Coast is a treasure trove of sights to see and places to visit during any stay in Southern England. England’s South Coast is part of Southern England which includes the southern counties of England. The UK considers Southern England to include South West England, South East England, Greater London and the East of England. So having established some geographical boundaries, here are some places to go on England’s South Coast:

- Beachy Head: is south of Eastbourne and is a snow white cliff on the end of the South Downs. It can be reached by traversing a scenic footpath. Don’t miss its famous striped lighthouse. The cliff path that passes through Cuckmere, Haven and Seaford provides a great hiking opportunity and is 3.5 or 6km long.

- Bramber Castle: is an English Heritage Property set on the west side of Bramber village. The original gatehouse was built by the Normans, although all that remains are the ruins.

- The Kent Battle of Britain Museum: is in Hawkinge. It’s an old armory that contains the Luftwaffe Room, the Aircraft Armaments Room, the R.A.F. room and an art gallery.

- The Eurotunnel is England’s newest and fastest transport system. It crosses under the channel between Folkestone, Kent and Coquelles, France. It was completed im 1994. There is a visitor center in Folkestone and The Exhibition Centre in Cheriton, near Folkestone. The Exhibition Centre is dedicated to the construction of the Eurotunnel.

- Borde Hill Gardens in Haywards Heath: is set on 200 acres of Sussex woods and parkland. It is a renowned botanical garden and displays a fabulous variety of colour through all seasons.

- Romney Marsh: is 50,000 acres of flowers that extends along the coast from Hythe. Visit in the spring when the flowers are the most beautiful.

- Mermaid Street: offers enchanting strolls in Rye. You will see The Mermaid Inn, a 15th century pub notorious as a meeting place for smugglers. Henry James lived out his last years here in Lamb House, a 19th century Georgian building, while writing his beloved novels “The Wings of the Dove” and “The Golden Bowl”. Don’t miss the Old Hospital. It’s a triple-gabled, half timbered 15th to 16th century building.

There are so many things to see on England’s South Coast that it would be impossible to recount them in one article. Look into all of the other wonderful things to do and see as you plan your visit to this charming area.

Majorca, the biggest island of the Balearic archipelago in the Mediterranean sea, has become an increasingly popular tourist destination in the past forty years. The English and Germans are mainly responsible for creating the island’s growth as a tourist spot. With the hot summers and wild winters typical of the Mediterranean, there is a variety of accommodation, restaurants, and bars to make your stay a welcomed retreat on the island (which is sometimes also spelled Mallorca from the Catalan and Spanish influence).

The capital of Majorca is Palma, located on the island’s western coast. The international airport, Son Satin Joan Airport, is situated just eight kilometers from the capital. If flying from the United Kingdom, the flight is just over two hours. A large percentage of the locals speak English due to the island’s status as a tourist destination, though the official languages are Spanish and Catalan.

If you like exploring, then you definitely have to make it a point to visit the east side of Majorca’s island. There are many caves to explore and awesome beaches to visit. If you like history, then you should make a plan to visit the north east side of the island. If you want seclusion and tranquility, then you should go to the west and the north side of the island where you will find mountains and quaint villages. And if you like a crowd, then you should definitely stay in the south because that is where all the tourist attractions are including hotels and group tours.

Although you will find many travelers soaking up the sun on the delightful beaches, there are many other venues for entertainment. You can hike the island, walk the beach, bike along the roadside, play golf, and ride the train. Or you can engage in watersports, spend the evening dancing the night away in a club. If you would rather watch than play, there is football, cricket, and horse racing. Many villages have fiestas and carnivals worth seeing. There are also art, craft, and food stands in the villages.

Majorca is an island which will please the senses, no matter your age. This is a great place to visit is you just want to have an island getaway, but it also a great place to take your kids and have a ball. There are so many different activities to do that you should never find yourself bored or disappointed in the scenery. Whether you are looking for an exciting nightlife in the southern most parts of the island or if you are looking for peace and tranquility to the north, Majorca has something for everyone.
